Agreed it gets the message of global warming across, but I as well have reserved feelings that it might also promote the idea that post catastrophe life is great.
Agreed with imisslincoln.

Eh

The transition rubbed me. Not sure about the whole "we can't forget to keep partying even though the world is falling to shit" angle. Nicely shot though.

Diffusion of Knowledge

I think that it works to do two things. Get Diesels name out there, and most importantly make people think about global warming. The type of people that can afford Diesel clothing might not ever think about what the future of the environment may be. This ad campaign might get some rich yuppie teens to think about there carbon foot print.

bad taste

I like that they're trying to get a message that the public needs to the public, but I think that the catchphrase "global warming ready" and the way it seems to imply that post-global warming, life will be all nice beaches and sunny days is terrible.

Interesting

I always said, one day the government will have no choice but embracing global warming, that day we will see the lost of the interest from the general public, that year is 2008.

Time will tell.

For now this campaign is just a hint of that.

great video

watch the whole thing of course, its tone is pretty funny. as for the ads, like most diesel campaigns, beautiful art direction. wonder how long they'll be running this, and how strongly they'll be supporting the environmental message.

funny stuff

i like it. they took something serious and didn't make fun of it or say it's bullshit, but rather made it fashionable. it still promotes fixing global warming even if it's taking the piss.
