Chevy America

"America, buy American." - Chevy.

For the average American buying an American truck, I'd say this is a solid spot.

Support Murder

Right. I got it.
Be all about "Our Country" by purchasing a gas guzzling truck during times of war over oil and Global Warming. These guys are murderers.

Geared towards middle america

not sure if i really like this commercial, upon first glance it seems to invoke patriotism, and the middle of america heartland, though i am not really sure if this is "Our Country".... if i made this i certainly would want it in my portfolio.

you're all wrong

This is a good spot. Yes, I'm already tired of having to watch it over and over, and the song is two-dimensional, but the footage transcends all that. The spot is not using guilt or tragedy to sell trucks, it's presenting, if not an honest, at least a balanced celebration of the America character. It's a sort of warts-and-all portrayal you would never see in any sort of political spot, or most any other corporate spot for that matter, and for that it deserves applause. Acknowledging mistakes and tragedy (Viet Nam, 9/11, Katrina) along with strength and heroes (King, Parks) keeps this thing from becoming the jingoistic tripe it could have been. Red necks? Maybe, but that's whose buying these things, not effite urban "sophisticates."

WTF?

Duuuude, when I roll in my Silverado, I'm representing Rosa Parks. And don't get me started with leveraging tragedy for sales. Welcome to hell.
