let the mind wander

and people discover how twisted they can really be themselves.
Great campaign, invites you in as opposed to graphic, hard imagery.

very interresting

i think this campaign lets us "complete" the picture, and it's communication is very effective.

ok

not making me want to help the aspca but it does make me wonder what they have seen that is worse. duct tape, gasoline, and a cat. it leaves you wondering what the hell they have seen and not how can i help

Dunno

Well, it diffently gets me to read the small text, but it doesn't make me feel better about the agency or what they might do to help animals. still better then other efforts I've seen before.

brilliant

Engaging the viewer's imagination in an intelligent way- very effective.

Agree with euroskip.

It is simple. In a good way.
The point is you don’t want even to imagine those things that they’ve seen.
Goes straight to the heart.

if you're looking for a "how-to"

look at the pigeon killing book. you can have a better debate about that one.

this is a clear message that people can be twisted, even more twisted than you think. it makes you go a little bit to your darkside, a little uncomfortable. uncomfortable is good, no?

not that dire!

think the ads are pretty well thought out and slick - most sven years olds wouldnt even bother looking at these anyhow

s a r c a s m

nobody said it was a how-to, but imagination is one of the most powerful forms of thinking out there and like violence on TV and drug use in movies, surely this could fall under the same category of providing the tools by which to think. in this case, put yourself in the mind of some devious animal torturer or even, a 7-year-old. it's almost a call to arms!

gimmeabreak

Sorry, forsoreeyes, but these are not "how to" ads. Anybody's who would superglue firecrackers to a bunny has probably already thought of something much worse on his (or her) own. It's not exactly learning how to make bombs on the internet.

I differ

It doesnt per say move me... I've seen better and I wouldn't call this profound just because it's th ASPCA and we all care about animals... Good cause but not the reatest work in my mind.

twisted

definitely looks joke-like; almost a setup like, so there was a roll of duct tape, a can of gasoline and a cat in a bar . . . . but ASPCA went the anti-PETA route (where they just show pictures of dead cats and dogs and things) and made the audience think for themselves. Put yourself in the mind of a serial animal torturer? Weird premise for a tv show and weirder premise for the audience of an ad or readership of a newspaper. outside of that, yes, animal cruelty is very real and happens all the time (just read the paper!). not sure if the ads backfired tho.

i did realized it was about hurting!!!

Just when I got to the cat one is that I realized it was about nasty jokes to animals... and I am sure now once i read the posted comments... now the question, it this such a big issue to make an ad about it?

i'm jealous

i wish i did this one. it's simple, elegant, moving and makes me feel like shit just enought to care about puppies. well done.

forsoreeyesonly, do you torture cats? i'm sure you're not supposed to feel good about hurting animals.

a little bit extremist

I know they are taking the subtle approach and not depicting any of the actual violence and I actually appreciate that, since it requires me to then imagine the worst possible things I could do to these cute bunnies and dogs. I know they've seen worse, but now, I've got a could of pretty good ideas of how to torture the neighbor's cat. good job, ASPCA.
