with the onset of every war, civilians are surprised at the horrors of violence—as though killing has somehow become more precise or humane over the centuries.

Too bad it's for the Army? Navy? I agree with camper as well, they really do make it seem like you'll be out of harms way whilst Robby the Robot blows up the "terrorists." Fool me once GW, won't get fooled again.

"piracy irradicator?"

The fifties cheesiness is unnecessary. The drones are pretty cool all on their own, though I'm not sure how I feel about having them protecting my democracy.

On a more serious note, it's more than a little disingenuous to try to recruit people during wartime by implying they'll be out of harm's way because the frontlines will be manned by robots.
